Early Life
Orianthi Panagaris was born in Adelaide, South Australia, on January 22, 1985. She is an Australian singer and guitarist of Greek descent.
Her passion for music began early: by age 3 she was playing piano, and by 6 she had picked up guitar. At 11, she began developing strong skills on the electric guitar.
At 15, she left school to focus fully on songwriting and performing. Her first public appearance came supporting Steve Vai, and at 18 she shared the stage with Carlos Santana in Adelaide after being invited at a sound-check.
Rise to Fame
Orianthi rose to global attention when Michael Jackson chose her as lead guitarist for his This Is It tour. Although the tour was never completed, the honor significantly elevated her profile.
She also toured with Alice Cooper, performing as his guitarist from 2011 to 2014. Over time she’s collaborated and shared stages with musical legends like Prince, ZZ Top, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Steve Vai, and many more.

On June 27, 2025, she released Some Kind of Feeling via Woodward Avenue Records.
The album includes the lead single “Attention” (released May 16, 2025) and a cover of ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man” among its tracks.
The album has been produced partly by Kevin Shirley and features a mix of original songs and one notable cover.
She also has a live album: Live from Hollywood (released July 15, 2022) capturing a performance at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood.
